The debut of the iPhone 8 is getting closer, and until then we will inform you about all the important information. As we have written before, everything indicates that Apple will finally offer wireless charging in its smartphones.
However, the latest rumor claims the opposite, namely, that this technology will not be active as soon as the device is released. According to the famous Apple blogger and analyst John Gruber, the iPhone 8’s wireless charging accessory will be sold separately from the device and may not be available at the launch in autumn.
I’ve heard that inductive charging will (a) be sold separately, and (b) might be late, waiting for iOS 11.1 (a la Portrait mode last year). https://t.co/N65dHMNQIJ

The Wireless Charging feature will be available at a later date, possibly through a software update to iOS 11.1 – similar to the way the iPhone 7 Plus gets a portrait mode, one month after its release last year.
It is still unclear why the wireless accessory will have to be postponed. Whether this is a consequence of a hardware or software problem – is also not clear.
