Qualcomm announced its latest Snapdragon 845 processor at the company’s Snapdragon Tech Summit. Snapdragon 845 is a direct successor to last year’s Snapdragon 835, improving performance, energy saving and image processing.

Of course, the Snapdragon 845 will be available in many high-end Android handsets in 2018, and is expected to appear on Windows 10 notebooks as well.

The new Snapdragon 845 is produced in the same 10nm manufacturing process as the previous Snapdragon 835, with the new model being expected to be up to 20% faster. Qualcomm has added its latest X20 LTE modem that provides gigabit connectivity for supported networks.

Detailed Snapdragon 845 specifications are due to be announced by the end of this week, so expect more detailed news on the topic. The full unveiling of all the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform features and specs will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6.

To highlight Qualcomm Technologies’ commitment to the China ecosystem, Amon was joined by Xiaomi Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Lei Jun.
