In a series of tweets Joe Belfiore from Microsoft revealed that the software giant is no longer developing new features or hardware for Windows 10 Mobile. Perhaps some Windows Phone fans have hoped Microsoft will update the platform with new capabilities, but it is now clear that it has been put into hibernation – only with bug fixes and security updates for existing users.

The Windows Phone platform has been dead for almost two years, but the company has never officially confirm it. Belfiore also admits he has switch to Android just like Bill Gates, and that Microsoft will support Windows 10 customers who want to use Android and iOS on their phones.

One of the biggest reasons for Microsoft to left Windows Phone is because developers have never supported the platform. Microsoft has had a lot of problems with the Windows Phone Store due to the lack of basic applications or their slow support if they are still available.
