Xiaomi has sold the record 10 million smartphones in September, executive director Lei Jun said on the Chinese website Weibo. This news just complements the positive landscape for the company over the past year, which has proved to be one of the most successful for her.

Last year, Xiaomi manage to sold “only” 58 million smartphones, which was disappointing, considering 70 million sold in 2015. According to the executive, this is the first time in which Xiaomi has shipped so many units within a single month.

Last year, Xiaomi did not perform well against competing Chinese manufacturers – Huawei has sold 140 million units, placing it among the leading manufacturers not only in China but also in the world. OPPO reached 95 million and Vivo 82 million.
