All Tesla electric cars have so far used NVIDIA hardware to power the infotainment system and the large touchscreen controlling it. But the partnership between the two companies is coming to an end, which is quite surprising.

The reason for this is that Tesla plans to use Intel processors in its future cars. According to the data, Tesla Model 3 will become the first model to take advantage of the company’s new strategy.

Interestingly, at least for the time being, the upcoming car has improved pre-order records and may become Tesla’s highest car sales so far. Collaboration between the two companies can definitely turn Model 3 and its successors into an even more attractive choice for consumers.

The electric Porsche will be cheaper than the Tesla Model S

Intel will provide not only processors, but also sensors for automotive radars as well as self-management software for future Tesla models. The loss for NVIDIA will not be so big as the company has partnered with some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Audi, Toyota and Volvo.

However, Tesla’s decision to change the hardware vendor in its cars is a clear proof of the growing competition in this segment. The more smart the modern cars become, the more interest they will continue to receive for the biggest names in the technology industry.
