Xiaomi officially will present its new Mi Mix 2 smartphone on September 11 – just a day before the announcement of iPhone 8. The information was confirmed by the company itself on the Chinese social network Weibo. A teaser for the event is attached to the official post.

Just like its predecessor, the Mi Mix 2 is expected to have a display with very minimal bezels. Last year’s Mi Mix featured an impressive 91.3-percent screen-to-body ratio, and Xiaomi is rumored to step up this year with a 93-percent ratio on the Mi Mix 2.

According to leaked benchmark tests, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will surely feature the powerful Snapdragon 835 chipset, along with 6 GB of RAM. The device will be powered by the Android 7.1.1 operating system with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 on the top.

Rumors also claim that the smartphone will have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2540 by 1440 pixels, a dual camera at the back and 3D face recognition support – an extra feature we expect with the new iPhone 8.

The phone is expected to cost at least 3,499 CNY (or about $530), making it a premium device and much cheaper than the just announced LG V30.
