A few months ago there were rumors that Sonos could launch a smart speaker, and today it was officially confirmed. According to the FCC document, the company is working on its own device with voice recognition capabilities. The product is referred to as S13.

According to the FCC the S13, will have a microphones similar to those in products like the Amazon Echo, which will make it easier to capture voices.

Microsoft announces its first competitor to Amazon Echo and Google Home

The S13 will support “several voice platforms and music services,” but which are they is not yet clear, imagine a single smart speaker who supports Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, which would be great, right?Honestly? If there was any company out there that could unite a divided smart assistant speaker world, Sonos is it. This is the company that happily supports Apple Music, Amazon Prime Music, Google Play Music and a half-dozen more inside the same Sonos app, so maybe it all makes sense.
