To remain you just how things come to this point – a few years ago, BlackBerry was still a mobile player, but for that short time, the Canadian company not only abandon their own phones and software, but switched to Android as an operating system.

And now they come with a new plan, to do business with her. The company has apparently decided to start offering a license for its “Android” version. It is called ‘BlackBerry Secure’ and includes all the security features that are currently part of the BlackBerry devices themselves.

About exploring other markets, the company’s CEO, John Chen said,“there is an amazing amount of products that run Android and since we are able to make a very secure Android, we think there are a lot of opportunities.”

BlackBerry hopes that BlackBerry Secure will not only be used in third-party phones, but it will also power the “Internet of Things” devices.  Android business with Android seems an interesting way to keep BlackBerry on the mobile market with its name.

As them hardware, it has already dropped out and allowed three companies Optiemus, TCL and BB Merah Putih to make devices with its brand name. For now, we don’t know how BlackBerry is going to handle software updates for its custom ROM. We will find out more when the company starts pushing BlackBerry Secure to other OEMs.
