Facebook is Making News Feed an Easier Place to Connect and Navigate
In the coming weeks, you will notice changes to Facebook’s design that will affect both the main news feed and the comments. The company said they wanted to improve the consumer experience in the popular social network.
The main change comes with the removal of most of the blue accents mostly in the top of the screen, and some of the icons have also been replaced.
In the comments under a post, the color range will be in gray and white, and the comments themselves will be on a light gray background, unlike the white one so far used, so they will largely resemble messages in separate bubbles.
The news feed also undergoes a number of changes by getting a higher color contrast that improves the readability of the text. The preview of published links will now be enlarged and all icons (liking, sharing, commenting) will be enlarged and redefined. Additionally, your profile picture will no longer be square, but it will be round.
We’re making updates to refresh the look and feel of News Feed, including:
- Increased color contrast so that typography is more legible
- Larger link previews so everything is easier to read
- Updated icons and Like, Comment, and Share buttons that are larger and easier to tap
- Circular profile pictures to show who’s posting or commenting
We wanted to improve how people navigate News Feed to create a more consistent experience. We’re making it easier to:
- See where a link will take you before clicking on it
- See whose post you’re commenting on, reacting to, or reading while you’re in the post
- Return to News Feed once you’ve finished reading via a more prominent back button
“Every person’s News Feed is different and populated with a unique set of stories — from photos and videos to GIFs and links. And with so many types of stories available, each feed is more complex than ever. In order to make News Feed more conversational and easier to read and navigate, we’ll be making a few updates to its design over the coming weeks.” Source: Facebook Newsroomhttp://gizbrain.com/2017/08/18/facebook-news-feed-new-design/https://i2.wp.com/gizbrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/facebook-design-change-3.jpg?fit=900%2C759https://i2.wp.com/gizbrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/facebook-design-change-3.jpg?fit=190%2C160FACEBOOKTECH NEWSapp, application, facebook, social networkIn the coming weeks, you will notice changes to Facebook's design that will affect both the main news feed and the comments.
