We all look forward to the new iPhone models that will be presented in the autumn. Today, developer Steven Troughton-Smith has published on Twitter that one of the new iPhone models will have a feature called Face Unlock. This is not all, the iPhone Pro, iPhone 8 or iPhone X, (the name has not yet been confirmed), will have a  bezel-less display.

Troughton-Smith and other developers have discovered these features as they brows into the Apple HomePod code, which largely contains much of the iPhone’s program code.

Apple “accidentally” released firmware for HomePod yesterday and the developers quickly grabbed it. From the many homepod firmware information, it’s clear that the new iPhone will have an infrared face scanner.

We have already heard that Apple is going to replace the TouchID with an infrared 3D camera. TouchID may continue to exist in S models on the iPhone, and only the Pro version to receive the Face Recognition feature.

The iPhone 8 could be the first Apple phone to feature wireless charging and be water resistant. Samsung has introduced wireless charging, an edge-to-edge screen and water resistance on its Galaxy devices long ago.

Apple is expected to unveil the phone at its annual event in September, possibly on Tuesday 5 or Wednesday 6. The iPhone 8’s release date could be delayed until the October or November, rather than as usual week or two after the conference.
