A new report from The Investor says that the company’s forthcoming flagships Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will use the same screen diagonal as the Galaxy S8 generation currently has.

This means that the Galaxy S9 will have a 5.77-inch screen and the S9+ will have a 6.22-inch screen. It looks like the company has even given the size of its Samsung Display to begin its production. There’s currently no word on the resolution of the screens, so they may retain their 2K status, or Samsung may make the jump to 4K, we shall see indeed.

Keeping the size does not mean that the screens of the new flagship devices will not be improved otherwise. For example, the company will make a lot of effort to put the fingerprint scanner under the screen.

Qualcomm and Chinese Vivo have already shown a working prototype of this technology, so maybe Samsung will have more success in this regard next year. However, if the rumors turn to be true, Apple is also experiencing problems with this type of sensor integration.

The Galaxy S9 will obviously use the same Infinity Display with curved sides and practically no frame. A similar screen, but without the fingerprint scanner, should be seen in the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 earlier next year. Source: The Investor
