Samsung today announced that the refurbished version of Galaxy Note 7 will be released officially on July 7th. The main difference with last year’s version is, of course, the battery, which was the cause of accidental self-ignition of the device.

The new “improved” Fan Edition battery has a capacity of 3200mAh (300mAh smaller than the one in the original model). A safety check ensures that each cell is used safely. In addition, the Samsung logo is no longer on the front, now is on the back panel of the device as a distinctive measure.

Galaxy Note 7 (FE) features a 5,7-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The processor is Snapdragon 821, not Snapdragon 820, and the graphics processor is Adreno 530.

The memory is 4 GB and the internal memory for storage is 64 GB. A fingerprint scanner and an iris scanner are available. The device also has a water and dust proof IP68 certification. This means that it can be immersed in water for about 30 minutes without to be damaged. S Pen is also available.

The user interface for the Galaxy Note 7 FE is the same as the one on the Samsung Galaxy S8, which means it includes the Always On feature. Bixby is also supported, but it has more limited features. The exact price is not yet known.
