According to new information from XDA Developers, the LG V30, a premium smartphone created as an alternative to Samsung Galaxy Note 8, will not have a second screen as its predecessor V20. According to reports, the new smartphone will be officially presented at the end of August.

The LG series is distinguished by the presence of a small additional display placed just above the main display. Its purpose is to provide quick access to applications, summary notifications and other useful things.

It was a interesting experiment that surely distinguish LG’s smartphone from the other competitors. Of course, this information does not come officially from LG, but it’s good to know what we can expect.

LG may use an 18:9 OLED display like G6. Thanks to this OLED display, the need for an additional secondary screen will also disappear as OLED screens can control each individual pixel and therefore one part of the screen may remain active for certain actions and notifications as well indeed.

LG V30 to debut at IFA Berlin 2017 in three variants

Finally, the same source has confirmed a few additional details about the upcoming V30: it should launch with a Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM, there will be a variant with 64GB of storage, and the device will also retain a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

In most other aspects, the device can be summarized as a larger version of the existing LG G6 flagship smartphone. The rest of these specifications should come as no surprise given the expected timeframe in which this phone is to be released. Source: XDA Developers
