Nintendo’s updated online service for Switch will be launched next year and until then the online competitive and cooperative multiplayer features will remain free. Initially the redesigned online system was suppose to start to work from this summer.

When Switch finally launches the new platform, its annual subscription will be only $19.99. Switch owners will also be able to subscribe for a short period of time such as three months which will cost $7.99, and for a month – $3.99.

Of course to be able to play for free, you’ll only need the official Nintendo Account. All the owners of Switch will be able to download retro games, part of the so-called ‘Classic Game Selection’ with online mode added.

Among the confirmed titles are NES classics like Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario, Further maybe be added and SNES titles. The games will remain available while you have an active subscription.
