Samsung has already upgraded its Galaxy A series with new models, but some of the older handsets will continue to be maintained for at least another year. Among them is the most powerful of the family – the Galaxy A8 from 2016, whose update to Android 7.0 Nougat is expected to arrive very soon.

The phone was announced in September last year and was released a month later with pre-loaded Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. And now it seems that the company has already begun to test the current Android 7.0 Nougat for the phone. This is the reason for the presence of Galaxy A8 (2016) with the latest revision of Android in the popular benchmark GFXBench.

Samsung already has released an update to Android 7.0 Nougat for the flagships Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 edge, the Galaxy S6 in all them versions, as well as the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy Tab S2. The Galaxy A8 (2016), however, will be the first of the Galaxy A series with this important upgrade.
