Samsung has manage to sold over 55 million devices from the Galaxy S7 series, which include the S7 and S7 Edge flagship. This was revealed by a new report by the Strategy Analytics market analysis firm.

According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung sold 7.2 million devices in January-March this year. The reasons for this success lies in the failure of the Galaxy Note 7 and the consumer freedom of the users until the release of the new Galaxy S8.

The researcher added Samsung sold 92.8 million units of handsets in the first quarter, with smartphones accounting for 86 percent, or 80 million units. Korea’s technology giant holds 23% of the global smartphone market, the report said.

Samsung hopes to gain a full-fledged recovery of its smartphone business thanks to the Galaxy S8 smartphones. The devices feature high-resolution displays that bend at both edges and come with various innovative technologies, such as iris and face recognition scanners, and a smart voice assistant program named Bixby.
