Samsung reported 1 million preorders of the new smartphone Galaxy S8 and S8+ in South Korea. This record makes it a device most preordered at the home of Samsung.

Pre-orders started 10 days ago, during the first week the company registered 720,000 willing purchases, which means that almost 300,000 have bought the phone over the past three days.

Samsung’s mobile business chief Koh Dongjin said last week that orders “have been better than expected” and that the global response has been “good compared to the Galaxy S7,” according to local reports. Customers who ordered S8 phones should receive them before they’re launched in stores.

Samsung’s goal this year is to sell 60 million Galaxy S8 and S8+. Analysts say the company can sell 50 million smartphone this year, but no more. The official sales of Galaxy S8 will start on April 21, but pre-orders are already being implemented in many countries.
