Facebook continues to have problems with false profiles that circulate in the social network and are used for fraud and even blackmail people. This week, the Internet giant got wild, erasing 30,000 fake profiles. From Facebook announced that they have stopped a massive international spamming operation.

In this case, the fake profiles are not generated by the traditional method of creating a profile, Facebook said. Instead they used more sophisticated methods to hide them source.

Social network detects fake profiles with improved methods for detecting suspicious behavior, like instant messaging and the same content that is published in the profile continuously.

“We’ve made improvements to recognize these inauthentic accounts more easily by identifying patterns of activity without assessing the content itself,” Shabnam Shaik, a Facebook security team manager, wrote in an official blog post.
