Samsung definitely wants us to use the new voice assistant Bixby, since it has its own button in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. But given that Bixby is only available in Korean and English (at least for now), rest of the world will not be able to use his native language.

However, today we learn that the button which activate the voice assistant can be set to launch another application. In the forum of XDA-developers is described in detail how to be made the entire configuration. The button of Bixbi can be reprogrammed to launch Google Assistant for example.

To do this you need to download an application called All In One Gestures, which unlocks some accessibility features, and creates a user key within the app. Of course, to be reprogrammed is not so easy, and not everyone will do it, but it is good to know that there is an option for that.

Probably, Samsung will not be fascinated that some users will not use Bixby, and instead run Google Assistant (for example), but this can’t be stopped, given the open nature of Android. Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + will be available for purchase from April 21st.
