Apple plans for all its iPhone models to using OLED displays by 2019, says a new report from industry. The company is expected to buy 60 million OLED panel for iPhone 8 this year, which equals about 40% of total production.

iPhone 8 Will Have Curved OLED Display and USB-C Connector

This confirms some early rumors that OLED will be used only for the most expensive premium model iPhone, while other two models iPhone 7s and 7s Plus will have to be satisfied with LCD. Next year Apple would double the orders for OLED, and in 2019 are expected all models to use the technology.

According to the current report, Apple will use three supplier for panels and the production of this year’s iPhone will begin in April or May.
