iPhone 8 will have a curved OLED display manufactured by Samsung, says new report of The Wall Street Journal. These statements support the assumptions of the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, which earlier predicted this feature.

Apple is expected to present two “S” models with LCD displays as a continuation
of the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, as well as third special phone – iPhone 8 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the smartphone.

According to the WSJ, Apple has chosen curved display only for the iPhone 8 or if its call iPhone X and already has ordered components to enter mass production. Citing its own anonymous sources, the newspaper wrote that Apple will remove the traditional Home button and propose dedicated “functional area”, which will be located below the display of the device.

There will be a special second display that will read the fingerprint. Such assumptions also made Ming Chi-Kuo. The newspaper also claims that Apple will change the Lightning connector to USB Type-C. The change will affect all models of iPhone, coming out this year.

iPhone 8 is expected to have a 5.8-inch display, which will occupy roughly the same size as a 5.5-inch iPhone. Kuo claims that 5.15 inches of the display will be usable, while the rest will be a “functional area” that will change the Home button.
