Mobile games are big business and this testifies latest report from SuperData Research and Unity. The market for mobile gaming has generated $40.6 billion revenue last year, an increase of 18% compared with 2015 mobile games have become so popular that now account for half of the market for the entire global gaming industry.

The biggest market for mobile games in the world is Asia generated $24.8 billion in revenue in 2016, the US ranked in second place with $6.9 billion, followed by Europe with $5.7 billion. Android users spend almost 30 minutes a day playing games, which is 9% more than in 2015.

In the US mobile gaming is more popular than the well-known streaming services. Americans spend more time playing games than watching Netflix, YouTube and Hulu. The report indicates that consumers play games six days a week, while only five days watching online content.

Logic games are the most preferred among consumers with 58% approval, action games hold 40%, while only 26% of people choose simulators. However, among the genres of the action games have the largest share of installation – 30% – followed by puzzle games with 14%.

It is important to mention that Android players represent 78% of the global market. And the US is the only country in the world where iOS players are more than those on Android devices.
