According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to add main ARM processor in its MacBook laptops, the idea is not not replace the Intel, but will simply allow the computer to go into standby low power consumption, thereby extend the life of battery.

While this is good news for consumers is actually somewhat worse for Intel, which obviously can not deliver the same energy efficiency of their processors. ARM chips are quite popular because of their energy efficiency as opposed to the more powerful equivalent to Intel.

Of course, for technical reasons ARM technology will not replace the main chips in MacBook, at least not now, but their work can ensure longer standby for laptops from Apple.

In fact, if you have to be precise, the new generation MacBook Pro model with the innovative Touch Bar already has ARM chip (T1). Its sole purpose is to manage this new functionality and nothing more. But in the future ARM chips can meet and basic functions of the laptop.
