The news was confirmed by an employee of Google, Android 7.1.2. is the next scheduled update which will bring bug fixes and optimization of devices. As well know Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 its out of its guaranteed two-year maintenance cycle does not really surprising that the latest update will not reach to them.

On a more positive note Google has confirmed that it plans to release very important security patches for both devices for at least another year. However, this is good news for those who have use the brand Nexus, but have not yet updated their devices.
