According to a new survey from the marketing company Consumer Intelligence Research Partners consumers who switching from Android device make up 15% of new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus owners. The figure is comparable to last year, when 14% chose to replace their Android handsets with the new iPhone 6s and then 6s Plus.

The analysis shows that new models are actually more popular among iPhone buyers than were their predecessors in 2015, composing 72% of all purchases on the iPhone. iPhone SE, however, is sold less compared to the iPhone 5s.

Interestingly, for the holiday season in 2016, the percentage of Android users among new owners of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is almost two times higher than those who prefer their successors.

This can be explained in two ways: either loyal iPhone users are more likely to upgrade to the latest models, or Android users consider iPhone 6s and 6s Plus for better starting point with regard to the operating system.

As usual, the truth probably is in the middle – more than 80% of buyers of the latest models upgrade from a previous device of Apple, while this figure in iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is about 60%.

The new iPhone 8 may have the highest certification IP68 waterproof. The number 8 into the certificate means that the device can be immersed to a depth of 1.5 meters for half an hour, while the number 6 is a sign of dust resistance.
