We all know that a brighter screen reduces the battery life of our portable devices, but sometimes forget to change this setting in the course of our busy workday. That’s why Apple intends to help us deal with this task with the latest version of MacOS.

In the upcoming new version of MacOS Sierra we will see Display Brightness warning which will remind us that the screen uses a significant amount of energy. This will be visible in the drop-down menu on the battery icon on MacOS.

When clicking on the warning will immediately reduce display brightness to a safe level. If the brightness is set below 75%, this warning will not be activated. Apple claims that its new MacBook Pro models last up to 10 hours on a single charge. Even though many users complaining, that get no more than 3 hours battery life.

This will be a small but useful changes that will help you keep a little more life to the battery of your laptop. The feature is currently only available in public beta on MacOS Sierra, so expect it in the final version soon.
