Google is working on device voice assistant similar to Amazon Echo, codenamed “Chirp”. Currently very less is known about the device, but it will be able to search for information on Google and perform various actions remotely – with voice commands.

We will not be surprised if one of the activating commands of “Chirp” is “Ok Google” or “Ok Chirp”. According to The Information Google’s voice assistant must be announced by the end of the year, but it is possible to see his concept at Google I/O next week.

Google declined to comment. The Information previously reported that Google was plotting a competing device of Echo, a portable speaker with voice assistant technology.
