A few days ago Joe Belfiore, head of Windows Phone, published on Twitter a photo of his  holiday in Japan. At the frame of the message we can see “via Twitter for iPhone”, which surprised many. After the initial discovery was published in several news media Belfiore explain its reasoning in the comments.

He said that using the device during a nine-month break from work. He used the time to travel with his family and as is clear from his comments, to know better the products of competitors companies.

“For me is very important to understad products like the iPhone and Android smartphones that represent competition for Windows Phone.” He said. “In the nine-month holiday I got enormous and extraordinary opportunity to get to know these products perfectly.” Belfiore explains how this requires continuous interaction with the device and its use for various tasks.
