Spotify bought two companies – Soundwave and Cord Project
Spotify announced the purchase of two new companies – Soundwave and Cord Project. Soundwave offers social music application used to create profiles of users based on their musical preferences. Soundwave allows users to follow other profiles, exchange music, exchange text messages in the form of chat and other features that can be seen in the future as an upgraded version at Spotify.
The Second company Cord Project focuses on the exchange of voice messages, and application named Cord. So far, the reason for the purchase of the two companies is not clear, but some sources claimed that the company buys them to invest in human talent, not so much because of the technologies themselves. Some features of Soundwave, for example, are found now in the application of the music streaming service.
