qualcomm-snapdragon-820

Qualcomm introduced its latest generation of processors late last year, and now we know who is their manufacturer. The company signed a contract with Samsung for making Snapdragon 820, and the production was officially launched a few days ago.

The chip will be used in many flagship devices including some models that will be available in the first half of 2016. Samsung said the Snapdragon 820 used its 14-nanometre manufacturing process, which it also used to make its own Exynos processors.

Qualcomm’s decision to entrust the production of another company probably due to problems with the last chip, whose creation was completely under the control of Qualcomm.

Snapdragon 810 was a disappointment and even forced Samsung to use other chips for his flagship models from 2015. Now we can expect this to change and Galaxy S7, and many other new Android smartphones to use the new Snapdragon 820.
