Near the end of the year is time for some tables and interesting statistics. It seems that once again Apple devices have been very popular gifts for under the tree on Christmas. The data come from research firm Flurry, which is owned by Yahoo. According to her, in the period 19 to 25 December 49.1% of all new activated devices are with brand Apple.

In second place is Samsung with 19.8%, which marks a jump of 2.1% compared to the same week, but a year ago. Interestingly, Apple’s rates were down by 2.2%. Nokia remains in the third position with 2% (5.8% a year ago) , and then follow LG (1.7%) and Xiaomi (1.5%).

Flurry note and the decline in tablets as gifts for Christmas. In 2013 those devices accounted for 12%, but the percentages are now 9. The biggest tablets marked more pronounced decline – from 17% to 9% within two years.

Clearly noticeable is and growing trend of consumers looking for smartphones with a larger screen. iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6 Plus are responsible for 12% of iOS activations from 19 to 25 December, 50% from Android smartphones are with larger screen. The data from Flurry is based on the tracking of 780,000 applications. This data can not be considered as completely accurate, but show the general trend.
