The first Android smartphone of the BlackBerry seems to be selling well. At least according to the company’s CEO John Chen.

He gave no further information how many units are sold from BlackBerry Priv, but said that “The initial 30 days of sales has been quite positive,” said John Chen, BlackBerry’s CEO. “I don’t want to over-hype things. It’s an expensive phone.”

That’s said to be 11.8% more than its revenues last month and the second time in a row it actually reported an increase.

The company sold a total of 700,000 phone last quarter, the average sales price of the phone is $315, which is a significant increase compared to $240 in the same quarter last year.

Chen said that the company will continue to focus on the hardware business and to stay on profit.
