According to unofficial data LG is already working on its own mobile processor, which will reduce the company’s dependence from Qualcomm’s mobile chips and make it more competitive against Samsung. It seems, however, the new processor will be driven in LG main flagship of the company for the next year.

The processor will appear in the LG devices next year, sources familiar claim that its power will be equal of Huawei Kirin 950. This fact suggests that LG Nuclun 2 will be based on ARM Cortex-A72 and A53 CPU cores and will be manufactured in 16nm FinFET process of TSMC. It will be ready for mass production after mid-year, which means that it will be used in LG G5.

According to a source of Gforgames, LG does not believe that the chip is powerful enough to be embedded in the flagship LG G5. The company has a plan to use it in the successor to the LG V10, which will be available in the second half of 2016. This information has not been confirmed officially by the Korean manufacturer.
