Apple-Phil-Schiller

Recently, Apple announced that Phil Schiller, head of the marketing division of the company, will now be responsible for the App Store. Schiller years was involved in the communication between Apple and third-party developers, together with his colleague Craig Federighi who we see more often on stage during presentations.

Recall that Apple maintains App Store not only for iOS, but for OS X (Mac App Store), watchOS and tvOS. Particularly problematic for the company is the store for Mac applications, which never managed to reach even part of the popularity of the iOS version.

Mac users are used to buy applications directly from developers, which is still possible in parallel with the existence of Mac App Store. Some major developers, however, prefer not to participate even in the Mac store – a recent example is the Bohemian Coding, the company behind the application of UI design Sketch.
