Microsoft officially presented Cortana for iOS and Android
After several months of beta testing Microsoft virtual assistant Cortana is officially available for Android and iOS. Besides the two platforms Microsoft will integrate Cortana in Cyanogen OS (version 12.1.1, which is expected this month). If you are among the beta testers of Cortana, you will not be surprised by something new – it’s just stable version. Cortana will be able to keep track of reminders and notifications for things like flights and deliveries of all platforms, and of course to ask questions.
In Android you can use the voice command Hey Cortana, to ask questions when you are in the application or on the Home screen. You can even receive text messages sent to your Windows 10 PC. Unfortunately, these features will be not available for iPhone users because Apple probably will not open iOS enough to make them possible.
Regarding Cyanogen OS, Cortana will be pre-installed and you can use the command Hey Cortana almost anywhere, even if you are in another application. You will also be able to use the virtual assistant to do things like change the network mode, turn off the phone and activate the silent mode. Of course, the functions are limited and only on Windows, you’ll be able to take advantage of all their diversity.
“It was a great experience to learn what you think about personal assistant, working on multiple platforms,” said Marcus Ash, program manager at Microsoft, who has followed the development of Cortana for iOS and Android. Microsoft is working since March on support of Cortana for iOS and Android and the team is faced entirely new challenges. For example, is not yet clear how the update of Cortana will be made in the future.http://gizbrain.com/2015/12/10/microsoft-officially-presented-cortana-for-ios-and-android/https://i2.wp.com/gizbrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/cortana-on-android-and-ios.jpg?fit=760%2C454https://i2.wp.com/gizbrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/cortana-on-android-and-ios.jpg?fit=190%2C150MICROSOFTTECH NEWSAndroid,Cortana,iOS,Microsoft, voice assistantAfter several months of beta testing Microsoft virtual assistant Cortana is officially available for Android and iOS.
