You’ve probably noticed that SSD are significantly cheaper compared to its debut on the market few years ago. According to researchers from DRAMeXchange this trend will continue with even greater force in the coming years.

They predict that by 2017 an SSD will be more expensive than conventional hard disk with only 11 cents per gigabyte. This means that you will no longer have to choose between high speed and large capacity, no matter what is your budget.

Many budget devices use SSD now, but in the near future their number will rise significantly because of the strong competition in the sector. Constantly increasing scale of production is another factor that make the HDD discs to lose them value.

SSD are more optimized and cheaper every year because of constant innovation.  “SSD is expected to overtake even a classic capacity hard drives (HDD)”, claims Nobuo Hayasaka, chief engineer of the division Semiconductor & Storage from Toshiba.
