In anticipation of the latest film in the Star Wars Google offers users a choice between light and dark side of the Force. Your decision will affect the look of Google apps on your device. Visit google.com/starwars, to join the side. Then you will find themed environments in the new Chrome tabs and Gmail, devoted to Star Wars. YouTube will get a new sound controller that looks like a lightsaber.

On Google Maps your location will be marked as TIE or X-Wing fighter. If you wish, you can set your Google avatar blue or red background to reflect your faithfulness. There are a few changes to Google Translate, Waze, Chromecast, Google Now and search. And if you use Calendar, you’ll notice new records for Star Wars events.

Google says it may have to wait several hours before you see changes in the application, so do not worry if you do not see the changes immediately. We should also note that they are not available in Google Apps accounts. Chrome, Gmail and YouTube are the only desktop applications receiving new design, and the rest should appear on your Android or iOS device.
