sony-ps4-supports-games-from-ps2

DigitalFoundry and Eurogamer inform that the PlayStation 4 supports partial emulation of the PS2, but it was not officially announced by Sony. The set of Star Wars: Battlefront includes three old PS2 games, which are not ports. We can see the PS2 logo at startup, as well as the fit of buttons to PS2 of the new controller.

Games even include a system of emulation memory cards that were characteristic of consoles from older generations.

According to some sources, Sony is working on this technology and do not comment freely, but it is possible in 2016 to see the full emulation. It is not clear whether it will allow users to use their old PS2 discs directly to the new console or will be limited to digital distribution.
