Project Zero is a team in Google, looking for serious flaws in the security of Android. The engineers work as a pure version of the platform, and on modifications to larger companies. One of the latest devices on which Project Zero focus is Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. It turns out that additional applications of the company are not particularly safe.

Applications such as gallery and mail client in Galaxy S6 Edge, that duplicate the standard functionality of Android, adding “11 extremely dangerous security holes.” Fortunately 9 are removed within three months of its opening, while the other three should be resolved soon.

Google has no possibility to verify all devices on more than 1,300 companies that produce Android smartphones. The vast majority of security holes are associated with added applications, rather than those developed by Google.
