The New Sennheiser Orpheus headphones cost $55,000
25 years ago, Sennheiser created Orpheus – superior and accurate headphones for audiophiles. The company presented the successor of the cult model that is even more impressive. The headphones come complete with a protective box, amplifier with eight tubes and marble stand. The latter is made of the same type of marble that Michelangelo used for his sculptures. But the stand has more than a decorative function – heavy and dense material like marble eliminate vibration and noise generated by components of the system itself.
Headset itself is made of high-quality metal and leather, processed by the best German masters. Many of the functional components are made of precious metals for maximum precision. The frequency of the sound that can be reproduced, is between 8Hz and more than 100KHz, which is a much broader range than that of the human hearing. The sounds we hear and recognize, are with a frequency between 20Hz and 20kHz. The price of the new Orpheus is $55 000 usd, which probably worth it if you really live music, not just listen to it, as promised from Sennheiser.
