Google makes categorical statement after the report last week which show that Android and Chrome OS will be merged into one. According to the company Chrome OS “Is here to stay” Google admits that “in collecting the best of both operating systems,” which gives some credence to the report from The Wall Street Journal.

“We have plans to release more features for Chrome OS as a new media player, visual refresh based Material Design improved performance and, of course, a continuing focus on security,” the blog post senior vice president of Android and Chrome Hiroshi Lockheimer. “With our regular six-week cycle software and guaranteed automatic updates for a period of five years Chromebook becomes better over time.”

The company says that in 2016 are expected tens Chromebook devices. The combination of Android and Chrome OS will not be available until 2017, but it is possible to see a preview of next year Google I/O.
