According to a report on VentureBeat, Intel has gathered a team of over 1,000 people, to create chips for the next generation iPhone. Specifically, Intel hopes to provide its LTE chip 7360 to Apple, and if everything goes according to plan, even to participate in its production.

For comparison iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus used 9X45 LTE chip from Qualcomm. Intel hopes to provide its modem for at least some of the iPhone model of Apple, which will be produced in 2016. Qualcomm is currently tasked to provide modems for all phones from Apple.

7360 LTE modem, of Intel is expected to begin shipping by the end of this year, and device manufacturers will begin to implement it in 2016, Intel announced that the partnership with Apple is crucial for the future of the mobile business. Obviously, Apple are very exacting clients with exceptional scale of production.

It is important to note, however, that Intel has not yet reached full agreement with Apple. At this point, Apple still waiting to see if Intel will be able to cover all the main stages of the project before the formal agreement. Another possible reason that the deal is not yet finalized, the partnership can be deepened.

VentureBeat further suggests that Apple would like to create an SOC for the next generation iPhone, which combines Ax processor and LTE modem chip. If this is achieved will ensure a better speed, better power management and thus better battery life. It will also contribute to a smaller chip that will occupy less space inside the device, freeing up space for a bigger battery.

Currently, Samsung and TSMC share the task of producing processors to Apple, and is not officially confirmed, we will most likely understand for authentication of the data when Apple officially announced its next-generation iPhone in 2016.
