More than half of Google searches is on mobile devices
Amit Singhal, head of search at Google, said that more than half of the searches already happening on mobile devices. This means that every month more than 50 billion Google searches coming from smartphones. When calculating the data for the mobile devices have been considered such a display smaller than 6 inches. This means that the data do not include traffic from tablets and the actual number of mobile searches is higher.
This statistic is good news for Google, since the company is now in the race for consumer attention (especially those using mobile devices) with Facebook and Apple. The two companies have different reasons for wanting lower interest of the services of Google. Facebook rely on ads that appear to users and wants to keep them as long as possible, offering them different content. Apple does have interest on iOS users to download as many applications as possible because it gets 30% of the revenue generated by them.
