Interbrand-2015

The consulting firm Interbrand released its latest ranking of the most highly rated brands for 2015. For the third consecutive year, Apple and Google occupy the first two places, and their market value has risen almost doubled in this period of three years. Top ten remains virtually unchanged with some minor shifts. Coca-Cola remains third.

Other technology companies included in the list are: Microsoft (№ 4), IBM (№ 5), Toyota (№ 6) Samsung (№ 7), General Electric (№ 8), McDonald’s (№ 9), Amazon (№ 10), Intel (№ 14), Cisco (№ 15), Oracle (№ 16), HP (№ 18), Facebook (№ 23), eBay (№ 32), PayPal (№ 97) and Lenovo (№ 100).

A total of 28 of the 100 companies in the list of Interbrand are technology companies. No other industry has so strong showing in the rankings. Facebook showed the strongest gain this year, moved to 23rd position from № 29, thanks to a 54 percent increase in the valuation of the brand. While PayPal and Lenovo for the first time appear in the rankings. Lenovo became the second Chinese brand added to the list, along with Huawei (№ 88).

Interestingly, Alibaba is not included in this list, although it was proposed because of its incredible IPO a year ago.

Over the past 16 years, Interbrand examines hundreds of brands to determine which ones are most valuable. While the definition is quite broad, the methodology of the company focuses on three components: the financial condition of the products or services of the brand, its impact on the customer’s decision to purchase, and how competitive it is in the market.
