End of the war between Google and Microsoft – both companies have agreed to suspend any patent disputes. The agreement includes a suspension of about 20 lawsuits, released in the US and Germany.

The two tech company have pledged in a statement to work together on other topics related to intellectual property, including licenses technology for video compression and others. They will also lobby for specific rules for the unitary patent system in Europe.

This puts an end to a patent battle that takes place since 2010, when Microsoft first made accusations against Google’s Android for use some of its patented technologies without being paid royalties.

Now we can see more concerted efforts to enhance cooperation, not a dispute between two of the world’s largest technology companies.
