Qualcomm expands the features of its next-generation Snapdragon 820 processor and looking at its specifications, it will be a monster when it comes to download speeds and upload data.

Originally presented at the Mobile World Congress 2015 earlier this year, Snapdragon 820 has plenty of exciting features, including machine learning and implementation of Kryo 64-bit CPU technology of the company.

The processor will be the first that supports 600 Mbps download speeds in LTE-Advanced networks. It will also be able to upload data at speeds up to 150Mbps.

Of course, these are speeds that are measured in the laboratory and hardly in everyday life would be so high, but will definitely be faster than existing. We should also be noted that your operator has to supports this LTE technology.

Snapdragon 820 also will be compatible with LTE-U (unlicensed LTE network) and keep 802.11 ad Wi-Fi for super fast wireless connectivity.

Qualcomm also introduced the new chip and the third version of its Quick Charge technology. According to the company Quick Charge 3.0 is 27 percent faster than Quick Charge 2.0. Smartphones that will be equipped with Snapdragon 820, will use less energy when fast charging, which will extend the lifespan of the battery itself.

The new processor is expected to appear in phones next year. At a special event in China today were announced two brand new chip-sets Qualcomm – Snapdragon 617 and Snapdragon 430. Both use eight standard Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz and 1.2GHz.
