Confirmed: Apple has reduced the battery in iPhone 6S to 1715 mAh
Last month, there was rumors that Apple will reduce the capacity of the battery of the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Yesterday’s press conference information was indirectly confirmed by the company. In the advertising video of iPhone 6S per second can be seen that the battery has a capacity of 1715 mAh. This confirms the rumors that is less than last year’s 1810 mAh.
The rumor that iPhone 6S Plus will also get a small battery – 2750 mAh of 2910 mAh. At this stage the information is not officially confirmed for this device.
According to Analysts battery is less because of several factors. Despite the smaller capacity, Apple promises the same battery life as the iPhone 6, which is due to improvements in the new operating system iOS 9. Another reason for this decision is the new Taptic Engine, which takes significantly more space. Furthermore, the new type of aluminum is also a bit thicker than the previous one in the iPhone 6.
Such moves to reduce the capacity of the battery took and competitors like Samsung with smartphones Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6.
