The Finnish company Jolla announced that it has “limited batch” of his tablet available for pre-order through its online store, giving consumers a chance to buy the device. Unlike competitive models, Jolla tablet does not work with Android – instead, it is equipped with Sailfish OS 2.0. The tablet is made to be both stylish and minimalist Jolla promises that it offers “superb, previously unseen user experience.”

Jolla tablet was shown in March at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Besides Sailfish OS 2.0, it has a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Baytrail processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB and 64GB of internal memory for storage (depending on model), 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera, and a 7.85-inch 2048 x 1536 display with 330ppi.

Sailfish OS 2.0, meanwhile, was able to run Android applications in the same way they do on BlackBerry devices. Jolla claims that Sailfish OS 2.0 brings the best “multitasking experience” and that users have total control over running applications. The new version of Sailfish brings a bunch of features for customization. In the OS of Jolla does not appear back doors or other ways for data consumers say they will not be spied on and their data stolen.

Those of you who are interested to make a request for Jolla tablet should prepare €267 for the 32GB version and €299 for the 64GB version. Pre-orders are open to everyone in the EU, Canada, USA, Australia, Russia, Hong Kong.

Deliveries of previously reserved tablets will begin by the end of October.
