At the beginning of the week we suggest that Apple will likely release an updated version of the iPod and here it happened.

The new iPod is a big step forward. It comes with a new 64-bit A8 processor. New 8MP camera on the back (before 5MP) and improved front for FaceTime calls. WiFi module has also been updated and supports higher speeds. Finally we see the brand new color options.

The screen of the new iPod remains 4-inch with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels. No Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

Together with the new colors of the iPod, Apple added new color options for the iPod Nano and iPod shuffle, but without any corresponding improvement in hardware. Prices of the new iPod Touch start from $200 for 16GB model and reach $400 for the 128GB version.
