4GEE Action Cam is a new competitor to GoPro with function for live broadcast
EE, the great British communications company, released its own competitor to GoPro HERO4 – it’s 4GEE Action Cam. It is part of a larger line of branded products that will be presented later in 2015.
4GEE Action Cam has a design closer to the typical compact action camera. The camera is able to broadcast the footage online, but it will require a subscription to 4G data EE, limiting function to a smaller range of users than HERO4, Sony Action Cam and other competing models.
For consumers EE camera with is alternative of live broadcast applications such as Periscope. 4GEE Action Cam is able to record (and preserve) the footage in full 1080p resolution, but the quality in the live broadcast drops to 720p. Viewing images is done through a viewfinder of a wristwatch, and not through an integrated screen. The camera has a micro SD slot expandable up to 64 GB of memory. It will be available for purchase next week in stores of EE.
